SATTU is a common drink in Northern parts of India, now is getting all the limelight due to its incredible health benefits.

How is Sattu prepared?

Sattu is easily available in all parts of India. It is prepared by dry roasting grain often barley or Bengal gram. The traditional method of preparing sattu is by roasting the gram and grinding it into a fine flour (with or without husk).

Why Sattu should be taken?

It is high in protein, dietary fibre, a complex carbohydrate that the body can digest slowly. Hence, sattu helps to ease digestive problems like acidity, constipation and bloating.


Sattu is also rich in calcium and magnesium which is good for bone health.
Antioxidants present are selenium, magnesium and zinc neutralizes free radicals that would cause severely increases the risk of our health outcomes (disorders of the heart, nervous system, suppressing immunity, proliferating cancer cells).
Hence, regular consumption of sattu is beneficial for heart health, managing weight, improving immune function, hypertension & diabetes (as it is low in GI-glycemic index).


Sattu can be replaced with the entire meal (especially mid-morning/evening snack).
