Mixed lentil dosa is an amazing dish for both breakfast or evening snacks. It gives satiety (stomach fullness) as it contains lentils more like Adai/Pesarattu dosa.
Lentil dosa not only is a mouthful but also gives a traditional taste with crispy texture and is a healthy dish to be inculcated in our menu.
The preparation method as follows;
Ingredients:
- Whole green gram- 1/2 cup
- Split chickpeas (tur dal)- 1/2 cup
- Green gram dal- 1/2 cup
- Horsegram- 1/2 cup
- Dosa rice- 1 cup
- Black gram dal (urad dal)- 2 tbsp
- Fenugreek seeds- 1 tsp
- Red chillies- 2 in number
- Salt- as required
- Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
Method:
- Soak all ingredients in a bowl for about 4-5 hrs.
- Drain well and grind in a mixer to a smooth batter.
- Transfer this mixture into a bowl and allow to ferment for about 8 hrs.
- Heat a dosa pan and grease it if required.
- Pour ladle full of batter and spread it in a circular motion.
- Smear little oil and allow to cook.
- Take it out from the pan once it is done.
- Repeat the same and prepare dosas.
- Serve hot dosa with chutney and sambar.
Note- Dosa could be covered after pouring to fasten the cooking process and to get a soft texture.
Don’t discard the lentils soaked water, add this when grinding.
A must variation to this recipe to be tried in the evening with left-over dosa batter.
